Ganglia
Weekend dito, no work.. I woke up at 3 pm, and did nothing but just lie down on my bed until 5 pm. I feel like I just want to reward myself with REST as in walang gagawin, hehehe… Wala nga akong ginawa, i did not cook, i did not bathe, no toothbrush, no cleaning, no laundry and ironing, no chatting with friends over the phone, never called anyone, no fafah today. Pero di ako nakatiis, naligo ako like around 8pm. Habang naliligo, napansin ko ang scar sa aking right wrist, it turned violet and for no reason i felt pain from the scar til the tip of my forefinger. Kala ko mawawala lang pero hanggang ngayon masakit pa rin and di ko magalaw ang forfinger ko. Strange, wala naman akong binuhat or ginawa. buong araw.
This scar was due to the surgery last June 2006 because of the so-called ganglia na tumubo sa right wrist ko. Sometimes it is painful but mostly di naman. Masakit especially napagod yung kamay or may binuhat na mabigat. I felt this lump like 3 years ago and it becomes bigger but very slow and growth niya. Sabi ng doktor wala naman ikabahala because when it is removed it’s just goodbye na. I dunno but parang nabubuo ulit siya.
Ganglia are swellings that occur around joints, the most common sites being the wrist and ankle.
The origin of ganglia is uncertain but they are probably caused by a breakdown of synovial tissue. This is the specialised tissue that lines most joints. It is smooth and produces a fluid (synovial fluid) that lubricates the joint, allowing it to move freely. This synovial tissue also lines the sheaths that surround tendons. Tendons are the tough, fibrous structures that connect muscles to bone. It is the breakdown of the synovial tissue of tendon sheaths that gives rise to most ganglia. This often occurs on its own but may be triggered by an injury.
Ganglia are among the most common lumps to arise on the body. They occur most commonly around the wrist but also along the fingers, around the ankle and on top of the foot. They are usually round in shape and vary in size from minute pin-head lumps affecting the fingers to pea-sized or larger lumps affecting the wrist or ankle. They are firm and rubbery in texture and may move freely under the skin. They are usually painless but the tiny ganglia that affect the fingers may be very tender. They are filled with a jelly-like fluid and can slowly increase in size, but they only rarely become very large. As ganglia are completely harmless, the most common cause for concern is how they look.
Ganglia may disappear spontaneously. As they are usually painless and completely harmless, most people once reassured will not require any specific treatment. If their cosmetic appearance is cause for concern or the ganglia are painful, they may be removed surgically in a simple operation.
Surgery is the only effective treatment for ganglia. Traditionally, ganglia were burst by hitting them with a heavy object, usually the family bible. Today, if they do not resolve spontaneously they can be removed surgically.
Ganglia often resolve on their own and so if not painful you may be best advised to wait and see. If you decide to go ahead with surgery, you should be aware that the ganglion may recur at the same site in the future, despite adequate removal.

“Weekend.. tinatamad sa lahat ng bagay….”
For those who have not played before here is how it works. I will start the game by posting a word, then the next poster will look at my word and post the first word (or phrase) that comes to mind. In turn the next poster looks at their word and does the same, keeps going on and on. This is sort of a never ending thread.
So the first word is:
Lazy
If you are lazy too, one word lang and keep it going lol.

Don’t let someone become a priority in your life when you are just an option for them.
***
Do not cry for any relation in life, because for the one whom you cry, does not deserve your tears, and the one who deserves will never let you cry.
***
Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you.. not because they are not nice but because you are nice.
***
Never search your happiness in others which will make you feel alone; rather, search it in yourself you will feel happy, even if you are left alone.
***
Happiness looks small when we hold it in our hands. But when we learn to share it, we realize how BIG and precious it is!
Have a great weekend friends!

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.
He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.
He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant’s confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.
Now, the merchant’s 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.
One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, “Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I’ll be alone. How lonely I’ll be!”
Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?” “No way!” replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.
The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant’s heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, “I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?” “No!” replied the 3rd wife. “Life is so good over here! I’m going to remarry when you die!” The merchant’s heart sank and turned cold.
He then asked the 2nd wife, “I always turned to you for help and you’ve always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?” “I’m sorry, I can’t help you out this time!” replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I can only send you to your grave.” The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.
Then a voice called out : “I’ll leave with you. I’ll follow you no matter where you go.” The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, “I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !”
Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives
a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it’ll leave us when we die.
b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.
c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we’re alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.
“Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it’s a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we’re on our deathbed to lament.”

…about erect**n…
Hahaha! Kung depressed sila, lonely, happy… and so on.. Shemps, wala akong makausap at mapagtanungan, nag google search ako. Ang question ko, “what does men’s brain consist of?” Niyahaha! In tagalog “ano ang laman ng utak ng mga lalaki?” (literally) Ang labo noh! Wala lang. Ito ang mga links na ibinigay:

Penile Erection – How Does It Occur | Onlinejer.com
Ano kaya sa tingin niyo ang interesting? Niyahaha! Wag ng plastik uy lol. Shemps, I clicked on the fourth one lol. Di naman kase ako masyadong knowledgeable sa mga bagay na ito, curious lang ako at least may matututunan pa. (char!) Knowledge is power! Weeeee… Here it goes… lol
Erection takes place when structures inside the penis and along the urethra between a man’s legs are filled with blood (like menstruation? lol) and inflated. This occur upon signals from the brain and the spinal cord, and the signals are transmitted through nerves in the parasympatic nervous system, a part of the autonomous or involuntary nervous system.
HOW THE NERVOUS SYSTEM TRIGGERS AND CONTROLS THE ERECTION
The erection is triggered and controlled by the following events:
– Something stimulates sensorial bodies in the genital zone or other senses. Impulses are then sent from the senses through nerves and the spinal cord towards the brain, and reaches the upper areas of the brain. The brain then recognizes these impulses as something sexually arousing. Also thoughts originating in the brain itself may be recognized as something sexually arousing. (aww!)
THE ANATOMICAL BASE FOR ERECTION
In the penis lie three bodies consisting of a network (kaya pala may cyber sex) of very elastic blood vessels having circular smooth muscles in their walls, called erectile bodies. There are two paired bodies lying at the upper side of the urethra (corpora cavernosa), and one lying around the urethra (corpus spongiosum).
The muscles in the vessel walls are able to constrict the volume of the vessels, or relax allowing the vessels to widen. Vessels leading blood to or from the erectile bodies also have the ability to constrict or relax in order to restrict or facilitate blood flow. The erectile chambers are not only confined to the penis, but continue in the area between the legs all the way backwards to the anal area. (huh thats why?!)
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE GENITAL ZONE DURING AN ERECTION
The erection response consists of the following events in the genital zone:
– When the signals from the brain and the spinal cord reach the nerve ends in the penis and the genital zone, the chemical compound nitric oxide (NO) is released.
– Nitric oxide then spreads through the genital area and especially the penis. Nitric oxide then triggers the following reactions.
– Blood vessels leading blood to the erectile bodies relax. Then more blood flows into the penis. (sabi ko na nga eh, period?lol)
– Blood vessels leading from the erectile bodies constrict, making it difficult for blood to leave the bodies.
– The smooth muscles around the vessels in the erectile bodies relax, allowing these vessels to widen.
– The blood going into the erectile bodies will then fill up in the vessels of the bodies and inflate the bodies to a much larger volume.
– The inflated bodies will get straight and hard. The growing erectile bodies will inflate the whole penis and make the penis rise.
– Since the erectile bodies continues backwards between the man’s legs, also this area swells and fixes the penis rigidly so that it does not sway from side to side when fully erected.
Out na me baka may manusok 😆
Peace!
